Sarah Kay
Sarah Kay (born June 19, 1988) is an American poet, spoken word artist, and educator. She is best known for her performance of the poem "B" at the 2011 TED conference.
Kay co-founded Project V.O.I.C.E. (Vocal Outreach Into Creative Expression), an organization dedicated to using spoken word poetry as a tool for education, empowerment, and inspiration in schools and communities around the world. Through Project V.O.I.C.E., she leads workshops and performances focusing on creative self-expression and the power of storytelling.
Kay's work often explores themes of family, relationships, identity, and the human experience. Her poetry is characterized by its emotional depth, vulnerability, and accessible language, making it resonate with a wide audience.
She has published several collections of poetry, including "No Matter the Wreckage" (2014) and "B: A Letter to My Daughter" (2011), which is an illustrated edition of her popular TED talk poem. She has also released spoken word albums and performed at numerous venues internationally.
