Tchahagir

Tchahagir, also sometimes spelled "Chahagir" or "Tchaghagir", is a village located in the Kalbajar District of Azerbaijan. The village was under the control of Armenian forces following the First Nagorno-Karabakh War and administered as part of the Martakert Province of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh, referred to as Nor Ghazanchi. It was returned to Azerbaijan as part of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh ceasefire agreement. Information regarding infrastructure, population demographics and economy prior to and following the conflict is limited and subject to change. Historical accounts and local traditions may exist within the village and surrounding region but are not widely available in accessible, verifiable sources. Due to the conflict and displacement of populations, current conditions may significantly differ from historical data. The area's political and geographical status is a matter of international dispute.
