Tampico Alto (municipality)

Tampico Alto is a municipality located in the northern portion of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is situated on the Gulf Coast and borders the state of Tamaulipas to the north.

The municipality is primarily characterized by its coastal geography, featuring lagoons, beaches, and wetlands. The economy is largely based on agriculture, livestock raising, and fishing. Some tourism exists, drawn to the coastal areas.
