FatFace
FatFace is a British lifestyle clothing and accessories retailer. Founded in 1988 by Tim Slade and Jules Leaver, the company initially sold t-shirts and sweatshirts out of the back of a van at ski resorts in France. The name "Fat Face" is believed to be derived from "La Face," a particularly challenging black ski run in Val d'Isère, France.
Over time, FatFace expanded its product range to include a wider variety of clothing for men, women, and children, as well as footwear, accessories, and homeware. The brand is known for its casual, comfortable style, often featuring nautical and outdoor-inspired designs.
FatFace operates a chain of stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland, and also sells its products online. The company has undergone several ownership changes since its inception, and continues to be a significant player in the UK retail market.
