Konoplev (crater)

Konoplev is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the southwest of the larger crater McKellar and northeast of Stratton.

The crater is relatively well-defined, with a sharp rim and a terraced inner wall. The interior is somewhat irregular, with a small central peak. Several smaller craters lie along the rim and within the interior. Overall, Konoplev shows little sign of significant erosion.

The crater is named after Boris Tikhonovich Konoplev, a Soviet physicist and optical engineer.
