Destination (band)

Destination was a British funk and soul band, best known for their 1979 hit "Move On Up". The band consisted of brothers Alan and Paul Johnson, and Denise King. They formed in London in the late 1970s.

"Move On Up," released on the Buttercup label, became a club classic and achieved significant chart success, reaching the UK Top 40. While the band released other singles, including "My Baby's Loving" and "Destination," they did not achieve the same level of commercial success as "Move On Up."

Despite their relatively short period of mainstream recognition, Destination's contribution to the UK funk and soul scene has been acknowledged, and "Move On Up" continues to be played and sampled, ensuring their legacy in dance music.
