Tages (band)

Tages were a Swedish pop band, formed in Gothenburg in 1963. Originally known as Tages Skiffle Group, they shortened their name to Tages in 1964. The band was highly popular in Sweden throughout the mid-1960s, often considered rivals to the Hep Stars.

Their lineup consisted of Tommy Blom (vocals), Anders Töpel (guitar), Danne Larsson (guitar), Göran Lagerberg (bass, vocals), and Freddie Skantze (drums). Later, in 1966, Skantze was replaced by Tommy Tausis.

Tages were known for their melodic pop songs and experimentation with different musical styles, including psychedelic rock towards the end of their career. Some of their most notable hits include "Sleep Little Girl," "I'll Be Doggone," "In My Dreams," and "Miss Mac Baren." They were prolific songwriters and recorded several albums.

Despite their success in Sweden, Tages never achieved significant international fame. The band dissolved in 1970, with several members going on to pursue other musical projects. Lagerberg and Tausis later formed the band Blizzard.

Tages remain a significant band in Swedish music history, remembered for their role in the Swedish Invasion of pop music and their contributions to the evolving sound of the 1960s.
