Sun Fen

Sun Fen (孫奮), also known as Zizhao (子昭), was a prince of the Eastern Wu dynasty during the Three Kingdoms period of China. He was a son of Sun Quan, the founding emperor of Eastern Wu.

Sun Fen held several official positions and military commands throughout his life. His early career saw him stationed in various regional commanderies, and he was known for his independent spirit and sometimes rebellious tendencies. This independence often brought him into conflict with other members of the Sun family and key figures in the Wu court.

Details about Sun Fen's life are primarily found in the Sanguozhi (Records of the Three Kingdoms), particularly in the biographies of Sun Quan's sons. While the historical record does not paint a completely consistent or flattering picture of him, it is clear that he was a significant figure within the ruling family. He was eventually executed for plotting rebellion. The precise circumstances of his death and the extent of his alleged treason remain a subject of historical analysis and debate.
