Stieglitz (crater)

Stieglitz is a small lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located within the northwestern part of the huge walled plain Apollo. It is situated along the inner ring of Apollo, in the region that has been resurfaced by basaltic lava flows.

The crater is relatively unremarkable, with a simple bowl shape and a minor amount of wear. Its rim is somewhat eroded, but retains a generally circular outline. The interior is featureless.

Stieglitz is named after the American photographer Alfred Stieglitz.
