David Bates (politician)

David Bates is a former Republican member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 89 from 2013 to 2017. District 89 encompassed Barrington and Bristol. He served on the House Committees on Finance and Oversight. Bates did not seek re-election in 2016. Prior to his time in the Rhode Island House, he served on the Barrington Town Council. He is a graduate of Barrington High School and the University of Rhode Island. His professional background is in finance.
