Stephanie Turner (British actress)
Stephanie Turner (born 1945) is a British actress, best known for her role as District Nurse Ruth Goddard in the BBC television series District Nurse, which ran from 1984 to 1987.
Turner trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). Before District Nurse, she appeared in numerous television roles, including parts in Z-Cars, Softly, Softly, Blake's 7, and The Gentle Touch. She also worked extensively in theatre.
Following the success of District Nurse, Turner continued to act in television and theatre, although the role of Ruth Goddard remains her most iconic. She has appeared in episodes of Casualty, The Bill, and Doctors. Her theatre work includes productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
In addition to her acting career, Turner has written novels, including "Blood Ties", "The Sister's Tale", and "Beneath the Surface".
