Flag of the Federal District (Brazil)

The Flag of the Federal District of Brazil is one of the official symbols of the Federal District, the capital territory of Brazil. It was designed by Guilherme de Almeida and adopted on August 25, 1969.

The flag consists of a white background on which four green arrows converge, pointing to the four cardinal directions. These arrows symbolize the indigenous peoples of Brazil. The white background represents peace and unity.

The four arrows also form a cross, which is reminiscent of the Southern Cross constellation, a prominent feature in the southern hemisphere sky and a symbol of Brazil. The green color of the arrows represents the forests and vegetation of the Cerrado biome, which is the dominant ecosystem in the Federal District.

The flag is flown at official government buildings and during civic ceremonies in the Federal District. It is a representation of the territory's history, geography, and aspirations for peace and unity.
