Decoder (band)
Decoder was an American post-hardcore band formed in Orlando, Florida, in 2009. They are known for their blend of melodic songwriting with aggressive, technical instrumentation, often categorized as "electronicore" due to their incorporation of synthesizers and electronic elements.
Decoder was composed of vocalist Brent Guistwite, guitarists Anthony Lusk-Simone and Brandon McCurley, bassist Bryce Sipes, and drummer Dan Glock.
The band released their debut EP, Kids, in 2009, which garnered them attention in the underground music scene. In 2011, they signed with Rise Records and released their first full-length album, Fractures. The album received generally positive reviews for its unique sound and blend of genres.
Decoder toured extensively in support of Fractures, playing shows across the United States with bands such as Of Mice & Men, Blessthefall, and We Came as Romans.
In 2012, the band released a new single, "The New Years," hinting at a follow-up album. However, Decoder ultimately disbanded in 2013. Following the band's dissolution, members have pursued various musical projects.
