South Meath (UK Parliament constituency)
South Meath was a parliamentary constituency in Ireland, returning one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1885, under the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885, and abolished in 1922 upon the establishment of the Irish Free State. It comprised the southern portion of County Meath. The constituency was predominantly agricultural and generally favoured nationalist candidates advocating for Home Rule for Ireland. The best-known MP for South Meath was probably John Howard Parnell, brother of Charles Stewart Parnell.
