Keith Hall (economist)
Keith Hall is an American economist who has held several prominent positions in the U.S. government. He served as the ninth Director of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) from 2015 to 2019.
Before leading the CBO, Hall held the role of Chief Economist at the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). He also served as Senior Economist for Tax Policy at the Council of Economic Advisers under President George W. Bush.
Hall's research interests and expertise lie in areas such as macroeconomic forecasting, tax policy, and international trade. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Purdue University. His work often involves applying quantitative methods and economic modeling to analyze the potential impacts of various government policies and economic trends. During his time at the CBO, he oversaw the production of numerous reports on the economic and budgetary outlook, as well as analyses of specific legislative proposals.
