Sopworth

Sopworth is a village and civil parish in northwest Wiltshire, England, near the border with South Gloucestershire. It lies approximately 5 miles (8 km) south of Chipping Sodbury and 9 miles (14 km) west of Malmesbury.

The parish includes the hamlets of Little Sodbury and The Street. Sopworth is situated on high ground, forming part of the Cotswold escarpment.

Historically, Sopworth was an agricultural community, with farming playing a significant role in the local economy. The village features several historic buildings, including the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, which dates back to the 12th century with later additions and restorations. The church is a Grade I listed building.

Administratively, Sopworth falls under the unitary authority of Wiltshire Council.
