Sonzacate

Sonzacate is a municipality in El Salvador, located in the department of Sonsonate. It is situated approximately 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) northwest of Sonsonate, the departmental capital.

The municipality is known for its agricultural production, particularly coffee, sugarcane, and basic grains. It also has some light industry and commercial activity.

Sonzacate is divided into several cantones (rural districts), including Las Hojas, El Cerro, and San Isidro.

The Patron Saint of Sonzacate is Saint James the Apostle, whose feast day is celebrated on July 25th. The town's annual festivities are typically held around this date.
