John Perry (Irish politician)

John Perry (born 20 November 1956) is an Irish former Fine Gael politician. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Sligo–North Leitrim constituency from 1997 to 2016 and for the Sligo–Leitrim constituency from 2016 to 2020.

Perry was a member of Sligo County Council from 1991 to 2004. He first ran for the Dáil in the 1989 general election but was unsuccessful. He was first elected to Dáil Éireann at the 1997 general election.

During his time in the Dáil, Perry served on various committees, including the Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and the Committee on Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht. He was a vocal advocate for rural development and agricultural interests.

Perry lost his seat at the 2020 general election.
