SoLé Mia

SoLé Mia is a planned mixed-use development located in North Miami, Florida. The project is a joint venture between Turnberry Associates and LeFrak, two major real estate developers. It encompasses approximately 184 acres and is situated on the former site of the Biscayne Landing development, which suffered from significant setbacks and delays.

The SoLé Mia master plan aims to create a vibrant, walkable community featuring residential towers, retail spaces, office buildings, a hotel, and recreational amenities. A central feature is a seven-acre lagoon known as Laguna SoLé, which provides a beach-like environment for residents and visitors.

Development of SoLé Mia began in the mid-2010s, with several residential towers and retail spaces already completed and occupied. The project is expected to continue to expand over the coming years, ultimately transforming the area into a significant urban center in North Miami. The project has faced some scrutiny related to environmental concerns, especially regarding the water quality of the lagoon and its impact on the surrounding ecosystem. The developers maintain that they are adhering to all necessary environmental regulations and implementing best practices to mitigate any potential negative effects.

The development’s name, “SoLé Mia,” is Italian for “My Sun.”
