Smith River (McKenzie River tributary)

The Smith River is a small tributary of the McKenzie River in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It flows generally west from its source in the Cascade Mountains and enters the McKenzie River approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) east of the town of Vida. The river is known for its clear, cold water and forested surroundings. It is popular for fishing, though access can be limited due to private property and steep terrain. The watershed primarily consists of old-growth and second-growth Douglas fir forests. The river is named after an early settler in the area.
