Sinđelići
Sinđelići is a settlement in Serbia, located in the municipality of Niš. It is situated near the city of Niš, and is part of the Nišava District.
The village is named after Stevan Sinđelić, a Serbian voivode (military commander) who fought in the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire. Sinđelić is famous for his heroic self-sacrifice at the Battle of Čegar in 1809, where he detonated a powder magazine, killing himself, his soldiers, and many Ottoman soldiers to avoid capture. A monument commemorating the Battle of Čegar is located near the village.
Sinđelići is primarily an agricultural area, with a focus on farming and livestock. The population of the village varies depending on the source and census data available, but it is generally considered a smaller rural community.
