Shankar–Ganesh

Shankar–Ganesh were an Indian music director duo who primarily worked in Tamil cinema. They were prominent figures in the Tamil film music industry from the 1960s to the 1990s, composing music for a significant number of films. Their style was characterized by catchy melodies and innovative instrumentation, and they were known for introducing new sounds and techniques to Tamil film music. The duo consisted of Shankar and Ganesh, childhood friends who decided to pursue a career in music together. Though popular, they were also known for their speed and efficiency in composing, sometimes completing film scores in a very short period. Their partnership dissolved in the early 1990s, and both members pursued individual careers afterward.
