Scouting, often referred to as the Scout Movement, is a youth movement that aims to support young people in their physical, mental, and spiritual development, that they may play constructive roles in society. Scouting encompasses a wide range of educational and recreational activities.

The movement operates through various national Scout organizations which are, in turn, affiliated with international bodies such as the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). WOSM caters to both male and female scouts in most member nations, while WAGGGS is specifically for girls and women.

Core tenets of Scouting typically include:

• Duty to God: Recognizing a spiritual principle, although the interpretation and specific practices may vary depending on religious and cultural backgrounds.
• Duty to Others: Including loyalty to one's country, community service, and promoting international understanding and cooperation.
