Sam Brand (cyclist)
Sam Brand (born October 27, 1991) is a Manx professional cyclist who currently rides for the Novo Nordisk cycling team. Brand was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of ten. He began cycling competitively after his diagnosis, seeing it as a way to manage his condition and inspire others living with diabetes. He has competed in various international cycling events, including stage races and one-day classics. Brand is known for his role as a domestique within his team, often supporting team leaders in their pursuit of victories. His participation in professional cycling aims to raise awareness and demonstrate the possibility of achieving athletic success while managing type 1 diabetes.
