Rudolf Raimann (botanist)
Rudolf Raimann (1863 – 1943) was an Austrian botanist specializing in the flora of Lower Austria and the Balkans. He is particularly known for his extensive work on the Hieracium genus (hawkweeds). Raimann collected and described numerous new species and varieties, contributing significantly to the understanding of this complex and taxonomically challenging group of plants. He published extensively in botanical journals and herbaria, leaving a valuable legacy of research for future botanists. Much of his collection is housed in the herbarium of the Naturhistorisches Museum in Vienna.
