Fourth Lake (Warren County, New York)
Fourth Lake is one of the Fulton Chain Lakes located in the Adirondack Park, primarily in the town of Webb in Herkimer County, New York, with a small portion extending into the town of Johnsburg in Warren County. It is the fourth lake in the chain as one travels upstream from Old Forge.
Fourth Lake is a popular destination for recreational activities including boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking. Several private camps and rental cottages are situated along its shoreline. Motorboats are permitted on Fourth Lake, and its waters are typically less congested than those of its more populated neighbors, Third Lake and Second Lake.
The lake is known for its scenic beauty, characterized by the surrounding forested hills and mountains. It connects to Third Lake via a navigable channel, allowing boaters to explore multiple lakes in the chain. The smaller portion of the lake within Warren County is largely undeveloped.
