Robert Day (Australian politician)

Robert Day (born c. 1954) is an Australian politician who served as a member of the South Australian Legislative Council from 1993 to 2011, representing the Family First Party.

Day entered state parliament in 1993 as a member of the No Pokies Independent Movement, advocating against the proliferation of poker machines. He later became a founding member of the Family First Party in South Australia and served as their parliamentary leader in the Legislative Council.

During his time in parliament, Day was known for his socially conservative views and advocacy for family values. He played a role in debates on issues such as abortion, euthanasia, and same-sex marriage. He also served on various parliamentary committees.

Day did not seek re-election at the 2010 state election, and his term concluded in 2011. Since leaving parliament, he has remained involved in public commentary and conservative political causes.
