Richard Knollys (died 1596)

Richard Knollys (died 1596) was an English Member of Parliament.

Knollys was the eldest son of Sir Francis Knollys and Katherine Carey, daughter of William Carey and Mary Boleyn, and therefore a first cousin once removed to Queen Elizabeth I. He was a member of the Knollys family, a prominent family during the Tudor period.

He served as a Member of Parliament for Wallingford in 1571 and again in 1584, and for Reading in 1586. He also held the position of High Sheriff of Oxfordshire in 1588.

His date of birth is unknown. He married Dorothy Forster, daughter of Sir John Forster of Bamburgh. They had no children. He died in 1596 and was buried at Rotherfield Greys, Oxfordshire. His will was probated that year.
