Richard Cresswell (politician)
Richard Cresswell (born 1949) is a British politician and businessman. He served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the Yorkshire and Humber region from 2004 to 2009. He was elected as a member of the UK Independence Party (UKIP).
During his time in the European Parliament, Cresswell served on the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. He also served as UKIP's spokesman on immigration. Prior to his election to the European Parliament, Cresswell worked in business, primarily in the technology sector. After leaving the European Parliament, he remained active in UKIP and commented on political affairs, particularly those related to Brexit. He stood unsuccessfully as a UKIP candidate in subsequent elections.
