Randhir (actor)
Randhir Kapoor (born 15 February 1947) is an Indian actor, film producer and film director who works in Hindi cinema. He is the son of actor-director Raj Kapoor, the grandson of actor Prithviraj Kapoor, and the brother of actors Rishi Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor.
Kapoor made his acting and directorial debut with the film Kal Aaj Aur Kal in 1971, a family drama that also starred his father Raj Kapoor, grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor, and then-fiancée Babita. He went on to star in several commercially successful films throughout the 1970s and 1980s, often playing the lead role in romantic and action films. Notable films include Jeet, Jawani Diwani, Raampur Ka Lakshman, Haath Ki Safai, Ponga Pandit, Bhala Manus, Kasme Vaade, Chacha Bhatija, Heeralaal Pannalaal, and Jawalamukhi.
In 1991, he directed and produced the film Henna, a cross-border romance starring his brother Rishi Kapoor. Following this, he took a prolonged break from acting. He returned to acting in the 2003 film Armaan, followed by Housefull (2010), Housefull 2 (2012), and Super Nani (2014). He has also produced films such as Prem Granth (1996) and Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999). Randhir Kapoor is a prominent member of the Kapoor family, one of the most influential families in Bollywood.
