Autostrada A8 (Italy)

The Autostrada A8, also known as the Autostrada dei Laghi (Motorway of the Lakes), is an Italian autostrada that connects Milan to Varese and the Swiss border near Chiasso. It is one of the oldest autostrade in Italy, with the first section opening in 1924. Originally built as a single carriageway road, it has since been expanded to a modern motorway with multiple lanes in each direction.

The A8 is a crucial transportation artery, serving both commercial and tourist traffic. It provides access to the Italian Lake District, including popular destinations like Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, and Lake Lugano. It connects with other major autostrade, including the A9 (towards Como and Chiasso), and the A26 (towards Genoa).
