Kevin Francis (footballer, born 1967)

Kevin Francis (born 21 July 1967) is an English former professional footballer who played as a centre-forward.

Francis began his career at Derby County, though he failed to make a first-team appearance. He then moved into non-league football, playing for clubs including Alfreton Town and Belper Town.

His career saw a revival when he signed for Stockport County in 1994. He quickly established himself as a prolific goalscorer, contributing significantly to their promotion campaigns under manager Dave Jones. During his time at Edgeley Park, he became a popular figure with the fans.

Following his successful spell at Stockport County, Francis moved to Birmingham City in 1997 for a reported fee of £800,000. He scored on his debut but struggled to replicate his previous form and was eventually loaned out to Oxford United.

He subsequently played for Hull City, Exeter City and Telford United before retiring from professional football.

After retiring, Francis worked as a coach and in various roles within football.
