Raúl González (baseball)
Raúl González (born May 17, 1973) is a former professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers (1996-1998), New York Mets (1999), Colorado Rockies (1999), San Diego Padres (2000), Florida Marlins (2003), and New York Yankees (2005). He also played extensively in the Mexican League.
Career Summary:
González was primarily known for his defensive abilities and versatility, being able to play all three outfield positions. While not a power hitter, he was a valuable role player due to his speed and ability to get on base. He was originally signed by the St. Louis Cardinals as an amateur free agent in 1990. After being traded to the Texas Rangers, he made his MLB debut in 1996. His longest stint in the majors was with the Rangers.
