Pyershamayskaya (Minsk Metro)
Pyershamayskaya (Belarusian: Першамайская, Russian: Первомайская) is a Minsk Metro station on the Maskoŭskaja Line. It is located in the eastern part of the city, near the Tractor Works industrial complex.
The station opened on June 26, 1986, as part of the first extension of the Maskoŭskaja Line. Its name, "Pyershamayskaya," translates to "May First" in Belarusian, referring to International Workers' Day. The station's design reflects the Soviet-era emphasis on industry and labor.
Pyershamayskaya is a single-vault, shallow-level station. Its architectural features include pylons clad in light-colored marble and decorative elements reflecting themes of industry and the achievements of the working class. The station's lighting is provided by chandeliers suspended from the vaulted ceiling.
The station serves as a crucial transportation hub for workers commuting to the Tractor Works and other industrial enterprises in the area. It connects the eastern industrial zone with other parts of Minsk via the Maskoŭskaja Line. Passenger traffic at Pyershamayskaya is typically high, especially during peak hours.
