Ignacy Łempicki (general)
Ignacy Łempicki (born April 26, 1767 in Łempice, died March 27, 1833 in Warsaw) was a Polish general who served in the Napoleonic Wars.
Łempicki began his military career in the Polish army. He joined the Polish Legions in Italy, serving under General Jan Henryk Dąbrowski. He fought in various campaigns, including the Italian Campaign and the Napoleonic invasion of Russia in 1812.
During the Napoleonic Wars, Łempicki rose through the ranks, eventually achieving the rank of general. He was known for his bravery and tactical skill. He participated in key battles, including the Battle of Borodino.
After the Napoleonic Wars, Łempicki remained in service. Following the Congress of Vienna, he served in the army of the Kingdom of Poland. He was awarded various military honors for his service.
Łempicki died in Warsaw in 1833. He is remembered as a distinguished Polish general who fought for his country during a turbulent period in European history.
