Punkunnam

Punkunnam is a residential area and a ward in Thrissur Municipal Corporation, Kerala, India. It is known for the Punkunnam Shiva Temple, one of the 108 Shiva temples in Kerala believed to have been consecrated by Parasurama. The temple is a prominent landmark and cultural center in the region. Punkunnam also houses educational institutions, hospitals, and various commercial establishments. It is well-connected to other parts of Thrissur city and surrounding areas by road and rail. The area has witnessed significant urban development in recent decades.
