Power baronets of Kilfane (1836)
The Power baronets of Kilfane were a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom, created on 19 July 1836 for Sir John Power, 1st Baronet. The family seat was Kilfane House, near Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Ireland. The baronetcy became extinct upon the death of the 6th Baronet in 1973. The lineage traces back to the Norman invasion of Ireland and the prominent le Poer family. The granting of the baronetcy in 1836 elevated a long-established Irish family within the British peerage system. Notable members included figures involved in local administration and land ownership within County Kilkenny. The Kilfane estate and its associated titles represented a significant landed interest in the region throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.
