Ultracore

Ultracore was a planned run-and-gun video game developed by DICE (Digital Illusions CE) for the Amiga computer system. Development began in the early 1990s and was nearing completion when the game was ultimately cancelled due to the declining commercial viability of the Amiga platform.

The game was intended to be a fast-paced, action-oriented shooter in the vein of games like Contra and Turrican, featuring multiple playable characters, large levels, and challenging boss encounters. It was notable for its advanced graphical capabilities, pushing the limits of the Amiga hardware.

Following the rediscovery of a near-complete build of the game several decades later, Ultracore was eventually released digitally in 2019 by ININ Games and Strictly Limited Games for modern platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. This release was marketed as a "lost" or "unreleased" game from the Amiga era, generating considerable interest from retro gaming enthusiasts.
