Popular Democratic Party (Puerto Rico)

The Popular Democratic Party (PPD) (Spanish: Partido Popular Democrático) is a major political party in Puerto Rico. Founded in 1938 by Luis Muñoz Marín, its historical ideology has centered on advocating for the Commonwealth status of Puerto Rico, a form of associated free state with the United States.
