Peter Rabbit (film)

Peter Rabbit is a 2018 live-action/computer-animated adventure comedy film directed by Will Gluck. It is based on the stories of Peter Rabbit created by Beatrix Potter. The film stars James Corden as the voice of Peter Rabbit, alongside Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson, and Sam Neill.

The film's plot revolves around Peter Rabbit and his sisters, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail, and their cousin Benjamin Bunny, as they struggle for control of Mr. McGregor's vegetable garden. The death of the elder Mr. McGregor leads to his nephew, Thomas McGregor, inheriting the property. Thomas, a disciplined and uptight man, finds himself increasingly frustrated by the rabbits' antics as he tries to improve the property to sell it. Complicating matters is Bea, a local artist and animal lover, who is fond of the rabbits and becomes romantically involved with Thomas.

The film was a box office success, but it received mixed reviews from critics. While praised for its animation and the performances of its cast, it was criticized for its departure from the source material and for its use of slapstick humor, which some found excessive.

A sequel, Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, was released in 2021.
