People's Democratic Movement (Turks and Caicos Islands)
The People's Democratic Movement (PDM) is one of the two major political parties in the Turks and Caicos Islands. It is generally considered to be a centre-right political party.
The PDM was founded in 1976 by Oswald Skippings. The party has been in government several times, alternating periods in power with the Progressive National Party (PNP). Notable leaders of the party include Oswald Skippings, Derek Taylor, and Edwin Astwood.
The party's platform generally focuses on economic development, responsible governance, and social progress for the Turks and Caicos Islands. Specific policy positions have varied over time and across different administrations.
