Battagram

Battagram is a district located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is situated in the Hazara Division and is known for its mountainous terrain and scenic beauty.

Battagram district was created in 1993, prior to which it was a tehsil (subdivision) of Mansehra District. The population is primarily Pashtun. The district's economy is largely agrarian, with agriculture and livestock farming being the main sources of income for the majority of the population.

The district is connected to other parts of the country via the Karakoram Highway (N-35). Battagram's terrain makes transportation and infrastructure development challenging.

The region has experienced various natural disasters, including the devastating 2005 earthquake, which caused significant damage and loss of life in the district. Efforts have been undertaken for reconstruction and development in the aftermath of the earthquake. The area faces challenges related to access to education, healthcare, and other basic amenities.
