Peninsula (film)

Peninsula, also known as Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula, is a 2020 South Korean action horror film directed by Yeon Sang-ho. It serves as a standalone sequel to the 2016 film Train to Busan. The film stars Gang Dong-won, Lee Jung-hyun, Lee Re, Kwon Hae-hyo, Kim Min-jae, and Koo Kyo-hwan.

Set four years after the events of Train to Busan, Peninsula follows a former soldier named Jung-seok (played by Gang Dong-won) who is tasked with returning to the zombie-infested Korean peninsula to retrieve a truckload of money. He and his team encounter both hordes of zombies and dangerous militias vying for control of the wasteland. The film explores themes of survival, redemption, and the loss of humanity in the face of extreme circumstances.

While Peninsula shares the same zombie outbreak world as Train to Busan, it features a different cast of characters and a broader scope, focusing on the overall state of the post-apocalyptic peninsula rather than the confined setting of a train.
