Paul Weitz (filmmaker)

Paul Weitz (born November 19, 1965) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, and actor. He is known for his work in both comedy and drama, often exploring themes of adolescence, adulthood, and relationships.

Weitz frequently collaborates with his brother, Chris Weitz. Together, they achieved early success with the teen comedy American Pie (1999), which they co-directed. They were nominated for a Young Hollywood Award for Best Director for this film.

Following American Pie, Paul Weitz went on to direct and write About a Boy (2002), starring Hugh Grant, Toni Collette, and Nicholas Hoult. This film garnered critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for Weitz.
