Paul Abbott (baseball)

Paul Abbott (born September 15, 1967) is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) right-handed pitcher. He played for several teams throughout his career, including the Minnesota Twins (1990-1992), Cleveland Indians (1993-1995), Kansas City Royals (1997-1998), Seattle Mariners (1998-1999), Chicago White Sox (1999), Florida Marlins (2000), Montreal Expos (2000-2001), and Philadelphia Phillies (2001-2004).

Abbott was known as a journeyman pitcher, playing for multiple teams during his career. He primarily served as a starting pitcher but also pitched in relief roles at times. His career was characterized by periods of both success and inconsistency.

One of the more notable events in Abbott's career occurred in 2000 when he pitched a one-hit shutout against the Colorado Rockies while playing for the Florida Marlins.
