John Armitage (priest)

John Armitage (born 1935) is a retired Anglican priest and author. He served as a chaplain in the Royal Air Force (RAF) for a number of years, rising to the rank of Group Captain before retiring in 1992. Following his retirement from the RAF, he held several parish posts, including serving as Rector of St. Lawrence, Abbots Langley, from 1993 to 2000. He is known for his writings on prayer, spirituality, and the intersection of faith and military life. He also holds a Master of Philosophy degree. His published works include books such as "The RAF Prayer Book" and "Spiritual Direction: A Handbook."
