Pagan (band)

Pagan was an Australian extreme metal band formed in Melbourne, Victoria in 2007. They were known for their chaotic live performances, aggressive sound blending elements of black metal, sludge metal, and hardcore punk, and vocalist Nikki Brumen's intense stage presence. Their lyrics often dealt with themes of death, nihilism, and personal struggle.

The band released two EPs, Pagan (2013) and Death for MADI (2015), before releasing their debut full-length album, Black Wash in 2018 through EVP Recordings. Black Wash received critical acclaim for its raw energy and unique blend of genres, further solidifying their place within the Australian metal scene.

Pagan toured extensively, both nationally and internationally, sharing the stage with acts such as King Parrot, High Tension, and Boris. They built a strong following through their relentless touring schedule and captivating live shows.

The band announced their disbandment in December 2019, citing various personal reasons. Their final performance was held in Melbourne in February 2020. While their active period was relatively short, Pagan left a lasting impact on the Australian extreme metal scene, remembered for their intense performances and distinctive sound.
