True Believers (John Schumann album)
True Believers is a studio album by Australian folk and country musician John Schumann, released in 1993. It was Schumann's second solo album, following Etched in Blue. The album explored themes of Australian identity, social justice, and working-class life, characteristic of Schumann's earlier work with the band Redgum. Key themes addressed in True Believers include the plight of farmers, unemployment, and political disillusionment. The album received generally positive reviews upon release, although it did not achieve the same commercial success as Redgum's most popular recordings. While not a major chart success, True Believers is considered a significant work in Schumann's solo career and a continuation of his commitment to socially conscious songwriting.
