Owen baronets of Orielton (second creation, 1813)
The Owen baronets of Orielton, Pembrokeshire, was a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 12 January 1813 for John Owen, Member of Parliament for Pembrokeshire. This represented the second creation of a baronetcy for the Owen family of Orielton, the earlier Owen baronets of Orielton (first creation) having been created in 1641 and becoming extinct in 1812 upon the death of Sir Hugh Owen, 6th Baronet.
Sir John Owen, the first baronet of the 1813 creation, was the illegitimate son of Sir Hugh Owen, 5th Baronet of the first creation, who later legally inherited Orielton and was granted the new baronetcy. He served as Member of Parliament for Pembrokeshire for many years and was also Lord Lieutenant of the county.
The title became extinct upon the death of the fourth baronet, Sir Hugh Owen, in 1916. He had no male heir.
The family seat was Orielton, near Pembroke, Pembrokeshire.
