Michael Mando
Michael Mando (born July 13, 1981) is a Canadian actor. He is best known for his roles as Vaas Montenegro in the Far Cry video game series, Nacho Varga in the AMC television series Better Call Saul, and Mac Gargan/Scorpion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Mando was born in Quebec City and has lived in more than 10 cities across Canada. He studied at the Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf before pursuing a degree in International Relations at the Université de Montréal. However, he left university to pursue acting at the Dome Theatre Training Program.
His early acting work included stage productions and independent films. He gained wider recognition for his performance as Vaas Montenegro in the video game Far Cry 3, earning a nomination for a Spike Video Game Award for Best Performance by a Human Male.
Mando's television roles include guest appearances in series such as The Bridge, Lost Girl, and Republic of Doyle. He achieved significant acclaim for his portrayal of Nacho Varga in Better Call Saul, a character praised for his complexity and moral ambiguity. His performance earned him multiple award nominations.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mando portrays Mac Gargan, also known as Scorpion. He first appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Mando has also appeared in films such as The Hummingbird Project and Heavy. His versatility as an actor has allowed him to portray a wide range of characters across different genres.
